A cheerleader and a Swiss army knife
Who am I as a venture investor? What is my role?
1. A cheerleader, because elaborate value add schemes are sold to LPs by fund managers whose sole purpose is to collect more management fees. I don't like wasting time, and there are only a few ways a VC can actually move the needle, and one is by being a really good cheerleader. So I stay in my lane.
2. A Swiss army knife, because I strive to be a lifelong learner, and what better way to always be learning than to be aggressively mediocre at and slightly confused in several different roles. So slap the acronym in my email signature IR, DD, MD, EA and I'm good to go.
